A speed-proportional humming noise that varies with vehicle speed (not engine speed) is typically a wheel bearing or tyre with uneven wear. We confirm which by switching loads between left and right in a controlled road test.
A knocking noise over bumps can indicate a worn anti-roll bar link, loose strut top mount, or worn ball joint. Ball joint failure can cause sudden loss of wheel alignment — have it inspected promptly.
